Fortune Teller

Interaction | Animation | Coding

The inspiration for this project comes from the fortune-telling method that young people are keen on nowadays.

To understand how young people approach fortune-telling, I researched the three most popular methods

We seek both individual self-identity and a sense of belonging within a group, but our thoughts can deceive us.
To better comprehend the psychology of fortune-telling, I analyzed it.

Based on previous investigations and research, I have deduced a series of behavioral habits and thinking patterns of individuals during the fortune-telling process.
Repetitive Cycle: After starting fortune-telling, people rely on past experiences to answer questions in the test. Once they receive the results and analysis, they subconsciously believe that the fortune-telling aligns with their situation, reinforcing their beliefs.

The entire animation adheres closely to a psychedelic style, aiming to simulate the psychological process of people initially being skeptical about the fortune-telling results and gradually believing in them.

“Your fate should not be bound by the results of fortune-telling.”

The participants' feedback:“As I placed my hand on the crystal ball and stared at the screen, the constantly rotating symbols and changing colors created a dizzying sensation. After just a few seconds, everything vanished, leaving me with a sense of emptiness. In that moment, I felt inner confusion and a profound sense of loss.”
